
Bonnie Pettigrew Strong
Bonnie Pettigrew Strong, has been a Peer Support Specialist since May 2016, and a Certified Peer Support Specialist since October 2018. She has been a team member for PACT (Program of Assertive Community Treatment) since October 2018 at River Ridge Behavioral Health, formerly Warren-Yazoo. Bonnie works both Yazoo and Warren Counties, providing services for people over 18, that have been impacted by severe mental illness and substance use disorders, serving a population of people that have been in and out of the system of care for extended periods of time. Nothing brings her greater joy than seeing others find positive pathways to recovery on their own terms, while being able to stay in their communities.
Bonnie is a second generation CPSS, and is beyond proud to walk alongside her mother's footsteps to continue to place stepping stones for others moving forward in recovery that exemplifies the importance of Peer Support, and advocate for equality of everyone in the process of recovery. She firmly believes in advocacy, restoring hope, holding every person in their highest regard, and allowing others to positively direct their path to the life they want.
Bonnie brings dedication, perseverance, resiliency, honor, integrity, and passion to the AMPSS board. As well as being a positive, uplifting, impactful voice for Peers across the great state of Mississippi.
